2016 Maker Faire/February 24. 2016
Maker Faire was a student coordinated, student facilitated event held in the Idea Lab. Students ran exhibits, based on the skills they had learned in the program from the fall and winter. Attendees could record a song in Garage Band, build a Robo Racer using a variety of craft motors, make a Backpack Buddy using a sewing pattern and LEDs, GIF themselves in our iStopmotion Photo Booth, and win prizes from our D.I.Y claw machine!
After light fare, parents viewed student-produced music videos from Rock Band month.
To close the evening, students navigated BB-8 droid through their obstacle course. Modeled after terrains found in various biomes, BB-8 braved the arctic and the desert.
As the event came to a close, parents were already asking our team about planning a Spring Maker Faire!
